This was a challenging, yet fun, piece I did as part of a collection of works for my final thesis project at OCAD University. This was made to call out (at the time) how men dominated 90% of country radio airplay.

A lot of my sketches weren’t working out, so I started doodling some ideas while I was focusing on another task, I had an ah-ha moment, and the idea for this work came to life.

It was both fun and interesting to go outside of my comfort zone when creating this illustration. I had fun playing with the western and country tropes, but I also loved creating and using the colour palette.
